An interesting article on a very rare item of regimental insignia owned by the author. A forage-cap badge (circa 1840) of the 14th Regiment Bengal Native Infantry. Many changes of renumbering applied to the corps, but continued to be 'Escotten-Ki-Paltan,', 'Scotland's Battalion,' to the native Sepoys. Of particular interest. as Captain James Scotland, Commanding Officer of this regiment, is from Easter Dollarbeg, near Dunfermline.
