This hand-written ledger covers the period July 1880 to November 1896 but the bulk of the 105 pages are taken up with the earlier years, when a Committee and Sub-Committee was tasked with drawing up an updated list of lair proprietors and a new plan for the graveyard grounds. Incomplete documentation meant a series of meetings took place in the burying-ground itself, as the committee members attempted to establish grave room locations and owners, and to work out the boundaries between the old, 1812 and 1827 sections of the burying-ground. In some areas, the committee agreed to move gravestones, change numbering direction, and alter the number of Rooms in a Row. Public meetings were held to invite notices of claims, individuals who made claims are listed on pages 11-13, 15-18, and 22-35, followed by a process of verifying claims. The Annual Report for 1882-1883 stated that title had been granted for all the ground claimed for all but 10 rooms. As well as minutes of meetings and Annual Reports, the ledger has a list of the committee and sub-committee members appointed in 1880.
