In 1913 Andrew Carnegie donated 10 million dollars to set up a trust for 'improving the well-being of the masses of the people of Great Britian and Ireland'. With such a wide remit the Carnegie UK trust funds projects of a wide variety including Community Service, the Arts, Restoration of historic artefacts and gardens, and Developing new activities in village halls.
