Folder containing newspaper cuttings from 1959, 1965 and 1970 about Dunimarle Castle. The first is from The Edinburgh Evening News (June 13th 1959) and is called Fife Treasure House, which recounts a visit to the newly reopened Dunimarle with a brief history of the castle and estate. The second is from The Dunfermline Press (September 26th 1959). "Treasure House at Culross" also recounts a visit to the castle, but also talks about the people in Dunimarles history. It also talks of the 1954 burglary and the items which are no longer in Dunimarles collections. The third - "Halt Called to Decay of Old Masters at Dunimarle?" is from The Dunfermline Press on July 17th 1965. It talks of the state of works of art in the castle and their demise; Mrs Sharpe-Erskine; and the chapel on site. The last article is from the Scotsman correspondance section and is dated the 19th of September 1970. There is a letter written by Graham M Davies from the Senior Common Room at Aberdeen University. The letter details Mr Davies concern at the state of the works of art at Dunimarle Castle due to wet and dry rot, the condition of the floors, security arrangements and unattended library with uncatalogued books. The writer suggests that the castle be turned over to the National Trust. There follows a brief response from a spokesman for the Dunimalre Castle trustees. There follows three similar letters from Scotsman readers.
