Inchcolm Abbey

Paterson, J.W.1929
Books, Manuscripts
Before Inchcolm was disfigured by the fortifications erected during the last war it was perhaps the most beautiful of the islands of the Forth. On a narrow neck of land, sheltered from the east and west winds stand the remains of one of the most interesting buildings in the country, interesting not only on account of its historical and romantic associations but in regard to the buildings themselves, as they constitute the only monastery in Scotland which shows the complete arrangement of the buildings.
