Biography of Randolph Gordon Erskine Wemyss. However, eight of the fifteen chapters have been given to the history of the Wemyss family from the earliest times. The author felt that for six centuries the successive lairds of Wemyss have carried on the mining industry adapting themselves to the ever changing circumstances of the times. Their enterprise made the little Parish of Wemyss the envy of the industrial parishes of Scotland.
