This item lists some of the more established shops and businesses in Lochgelly from the1800s. There is a brief history of some of these businesses including the Co-op, the manufacture of the "tawse" and the Lochgelly Times. For most entries there is a simple 'then and now' listing, eg. Walker's Dairy now hairdressers. The date of 'now' has not been specified as the document is undated; the latest date given in the document is 1967. Nor is the name of the author given but three contributors are listed who advised the author on changes in businesses over the years. They are Mr A Stewart, Mr J Duffin, and Mr W "Tiff" Stuart.
