This book looks at 'the flower of medieval Scottish poetry' in the work of the poets James I, Robert Henryson, William Dunbar and Gavin Douglas. Biographical details are sketched for each, and historical context is also given. The poems included for Dunfermline schoolmaster and poet Henryson are: Robene and Makyne; The Garmond of Gude Ladeis; The Abbey Walk; The Prais of Aige; The Testament of Cresseid; Prologue to the Moral Fables; and The Taill of the Uplandis Mous. The copies have different binding. One copy has an Erskine Beveridge bookplate. This and another copy also contain an additional page at the end, giving information on the different volumes in the series and press opinions on volume 1.
