This is one page of typescript; the date, 11 April 1975, and initials have been added in red ink. The paper explains that the Town Council became bankrupt in 1827, necessitating the sale of the Town Green up to the south side of Townhill Loch. North of this, the farms of Higholm and Muircockhall were retained by the Council until after World War Two, with Lilliehill Farm remaining in Council ownership in 1975.
