The Bannatyne Club was founded by Sir Walter Scott in 1823 to print rare works of Scottish interest. This volume on medieval Dunfermline poet Robert Henryson, was the sixth volume they published and only 65 copies were printed. It was presented to the Club by George Chalmers, the editor of the work.
