This item comprises three separate pages as follows: 1) laminated copy of a Dunfermline Press article dated 13 July 1907 entitled 'The Burgh Coat of Arms' which produces verbatim a heated Council discussion about the coat of arms designed by James Shearer for the Council; 2) laminated copy of Dunfermline coat of arms, with a description which also outlines how it was matriculated in 1909 “after the Lord Advocate had directed the prosecution of the Town Council for illegal use of arms”; and 3)sheet with full colour coat of arms as matriculated with the Lord Lyon King of Arms.
