This item comprises a white cardboard box containing a contents list and 24 numbered items (with multiple copies of some items), all relating to a legal dispute between the Inverkeithing papermakers Caldwell & Company and the Burgh of Dunfermline. Most of the items are dated 1914, or just prior to that date, but there is an excerpt from Inverkeithing Town Council minutes dating back to 1808. The dispute concerned the restoration of the mill dam, in particular who was to be responsible for payment. Items include plans, minutes, statements, memos and correspondence, excerpts from leases and valuation rolls, statements, dispositions and precognitions.
