Petition and Complaint brought about by Robert Haldane, Esq, Provost of Inverkeithing, and Magistrates and Councillors of the Burgh. Relating to 'grievous wrongs and illegal proceedings' which were alleged to have taken place at the annual burgh elections. It was claimed that an illegal majority of the meeting was procured and that the use of unlawful force and bribery led to the election of Admiral Holburn and his party.
