Another Petition brought about by Robert Haldane, Esq, Provost of Inverkeithing, and Magistrates and Councillors of the Burgh. This document recounts the legal proceedings which had already taken place between Robert Haldane and Francis Holburn regarding 'grievous wrongs and illegal proceedings' alleged to have taken place at the burgh elections in 1760. It had been claimed that the use of unlawful force and bribery led to the election of Admiral Holburn and his party. This petition seeks a review of the case by the Court of Session.
