Court of Session (Scotland)1765
Books, Manuscripts
Petition brought by the heritors, kirk session and presbytery of Dunfermline against Robert Blackwood of Pitreavie. In 1675 Sir Henry Wardlaw founded and built a hospital at Masterton in favour of four widows who could live on the lands of Pitreavie or other land belonging to him and his successors, to whom the patronage of the hospital was declared by charter to belong. Each of the widows was to have a chamber or house and a regular delivery of oatmeal. The current owner Robert Blackwood had allowed to houses to fall into total disrepair and was not keeping the terms of the deed of mortification.
