Robert Moffat was a Scottish Congregationalist Missionary in Africa. He translated the Bible into Setswanna. Working out of a missionary at Kuruman in South Africa, he travelled to neighbouring regions as part of his mission and reported back to the Royal Geological Society with any information he gathered. He and his wife, Mary, raised a family in South Africa, one of their daughters eventually married David Livingstone. In this story of his life and work we follow Robert from his early years in Scotland and his time spent working briefly in Fife at Donibristle, to his descision to work as a missionary in Africa, the life of a missionary and the hardships this entailed are described.
