This reference book, along with a set of plans was part of an application to parliament, the solicitors for the bill were H&R Lamond & MacCredie of Glasgow, the parliamentary agents were WM. Robertson & Company, Westminster. This reference book lists the various parishes and properties within those parishes which would be effected by the proposals to extend the railway network. The following parishes are listed for Fife: Tulliallan, Culross, Torryburn, Saline, Carnock, Inverkeithing and Dunfermline. Each parish listing gives the number on the plan of the property, a description of the property (whether it was pasture land, dwelling-house, road etc.), the name of the owner, the names of lessees and the names of any occupiers. Along with the report are two items of correspondance the first gives more details about property owned by the Royal Burgh of Dunfermline that woud be effected, the second is a Parliamentary Notice from Lamond & Maccredie.
