Volume I of IX - an extensive collection of items about the local history of Dunfermline compiled by Daniel Thomson (a local weaver, man of letters, historian and reformer) between 1893-1908. Thomson was attempting to produce a factually correct local history of Dunfermline as he felt that those written by Henderson and Chalmers contained a number of grave mistakes.
