Masque of Dunfermline 1985 : Souvenir programme

Dunfermline District Arts Council1957
Books, Manuscripts
This Masque of Dunfermline was conceived as part of celebrations to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Andrew Carnegie; it follows earlier masques of Dunfermline held in the 1950s/60s. The Masque portrayed important scenes from Dunfermline's history, including "Malcolm and Margaret" and "The Rosyth Rent Strike". The programme details the involvement of the Masque sub-committee of the Dunfermline District Arts Council and The Carnegie Dunfermline Trust, as well as producers, authors, drama and musical groups taking part: this includes some photographs of those involved. There are many local adverts, a synopsis of masque scenes, articles (eg. on clock-making; Stephen's bakery; the linen industry) and a list of patrons.
