The minute book contains a handwritten report of each meeting of the Commissioners of Police for Dunfermline. The minutes contain contributions and reports from committees such as Improvement, Finance, Lighting, Fire Engine and Cleansing and deal with everyday business of the town. There is a note explaining that this volume was originally full-bound over a thick false spine but that had completely perished. This new calf spine volume was produced in 1980 by I.W. King.
