The Rule of St Benedict was translated by Sir David Oswald Hunter Blair during his time as Abbot of Fort Augustus. He was later appointed by the General Chapter of the English Benedictines to the titular Abbacy of Dunfermline. The Rule is set out in Latin on the left-hand page, with the translation in English on the right-hand page.
