Scrapbook of newspaper cuttings, beginning with health related articles and Cleansing Department notices in the 1914-20 period, the bulk from the Second World War years(mostly notices re waste disposal and the Salvage collections made for the War Effort), later cuttings include breaches of hygiene regulations, street cleaning and snow clearance, opening of the Elgin Street cleansing depot in 1957, housing and slum clearance. Includes articles on several borough officers, including those in the fields of engineering, sanitation, health and housing, many references being to Chief Sanitary Inspector Alex H.
