This publication by the Rev. Thomas Chalmers is volume two of Treatise One of a series entitled 'The Bridgewater Treatises' which are a series of treatises 'On the Power, Wisdom, and Goodness of God' as explained in the 'Notice' on page IX of voume one. The Treatises were published as part of the terms of the will of the Rev. Francis Henry, Earl of Bridgewater who died in 1829. This volume, volume two, is a continuation of volume one (Part I) and therefore commences with Chapter VII and concludes with Chapter X. This volume also contains the first four Chapters of Part II. The subjects in this volume are 'On the Adaptation of External Nature to the Moral Constitution of Man' and 'On the Adaptation of External Nature to the Intellectual Constitution of Man'. It appears to be in its original binding and the pages are quite heavily foxed.
