Copy of the 'Chronicon' produced for the members of the Bannatyne Club by Robert Pitcairn. The Bannatyne Club was a society which published texts of Scottish interest, these could be anything from poetry to history, and included transcriptions of Scottish related documents. The 'Chronicon' or Holyrood Chronicle that has been transcribed here is an anonymous chronicle and is one of only two monastic chronicles from Scotland from the 12th and 13th century to survive as an independent work.
