This is collection of several handwritten correspondence dating from 1846 to 1887 involving the Turnpike Roads and Bridges in the Dunfermline District. The items include various applications for permission to use the roads, compensation costs involved, letters of support and opposition to the act to abolish all Toll bars, claims, applications to build on the side of turnpike roads and expenses of improvements to bridges and road maintenance costs. The collection contains minutes from a meeting of statute labour roads in 1837.
