A5 programme of events to take place on 15th October 1999, in Dunfermline Public Park, to celebrate the refurbishment of the Band Stand, carried out in 1999. Scott Macdonald was the engineer in charge, and employees of Fife Council carried out the works. Dunfermline Town Band played a selection of music, and pupils from Commercial Primary School & St. Margaret's Primary School performed a number of musical items. A vote of thanks was given by Councillor James P. Simpson. Ceremony started at 2pm, and Councillor Barbara Stocks, Chair of the common Good Sub Committee, opened the proceedings. This leaflet lists the music played by the Band of the 6th (Fifeshire) V.B. "The Black Watch" (R.H.) A & B Companies for the original 1888 ceremony, as well as the ladies and gentlemen who supported Provost Donald (presiding) on the platform. in 1888 the Band Stand was presented to the town by Mrs Louise Carnegie, in the presence of the Magistrates and Town Council.
