Books, Manuscripts
This work is often referred to as the Scotichronicon, and attributed to John of Fordun, with the work continued after his death by Walter Bower (or Bowmaker), Abbot of the monastery of Inchcolm. An aim of this new edition was "to discriminate between the original composition of John of Fordun in the 14th century and the additions of his continuator in the succeeding century".
