Trial by Jury in Civil Causes was introduced into Scotland in 1815. The first trial took place in the Jury Court 22nd January 1816. In 1823 a Royal Commission was appointed to inquire into various matters connected with the Court of Session, and with Trial by Jury in Civil Causes.
