A history of land tenure in the Dunfermline to Rosyth area, focussing on Pitreavie and its castle, Masterton, St Margaret's Stone, Pitbauchlie, Pitcorthie and Primrose. As such, this document focuses on the Wardlaw family, the owning family for so many years, with the paper finishing with a list of the owners of the lands at the time of writing. There is an account of 'the Battle of Inverkeithing, but known locally as the Battle of Pitreavie... while fighting began near Inverkeithing, it ended at the gates of Pitreavie' in 1651. There is mention too of the Pitreavie Hospital at Masterton [Mastertown, Maistertoun].
