This document includes information first published in the Dunfermline Abbey Congregational Supplement, October 1953. Rev Webster looks at the question of manse and glebe provision for ministers after the Reformation, and whether it was the manse inhabited by ministers Mr McGill followed by Mr Oliphant that was uncovered by workmen in 1952 when they were dismantling (to rebuild) the retaining wall between Bee Alley garden and the churchyard. The foundation stones of this building being ,probably, from the 15th century, Webster suggest that the ministers had moved into an unoccupied space that had once comprised accommodation for the Bailie of Regality.
