Bound volume containing three items relating to the trials of Thomas Muir and Rev. Thomas Fyshe Palmer. Both were on trial accused of sedition. Their belief in universal suffrage had brought both men into conflict with the authorities resulting in their arrest and subsequent trials. Thomas Muir in particular is now considered the father of scottish democracy and his speech at his trial caught the attention of the world as he was one of the few unreservedly promoting universal sufferage.
