A copy of the Trust Deed set up by Andrew Carnegie in 1913, forming the Dunfermline United KingdomTrust. Carnegie confirms he is 'much gratified' with the administration by the Trustees of the Carnegie Dunfermline Trust and Carnegie Hero Fund Trust, and undertakes to provide for a UK-wide Trust, via the same Trustees. These men are listed on page 5, all being from Dunfermline. Rules for the Trust are laid out, eg. Trust funds prohibited from being used in any way which could 'lend countenance to war'. Money for the Trust was to come from bonds of the U.S. Steel Corporation 'of the aggregate face value of Ten Million Dollars, bearing interest at five per cent. per annum'. Witnesses were Louise Whitfield Carnegie, Margaret Carnegie and Estelle Whitfield.
