These minutes show that the Trustees of the Dunfermline Standing Sub-Committee of the Carnegie United Kingdom Trust in 1916 were Dr Ross, Rev W A Hutchison, Mr Hynd, Sir William Robertson, Mr Taylor, Mr Wilson, A L Hetherington (Secretary) and the two absent members, Mr Macbeth and Mr Norval. The minutes record decisions made with regard to grants for church organs and libraries, and detail payment for the temporary assistant appointed to the Baths Inquiry, who as well as a wage was to receive ‘cost of return fare between London and Edinburgh, and a Season Ticket between Edinburgh and Dunfermline’. An appendix to the minutes gives three reports into the provision of lecture halls in connection with public libraries.
