This book gives the history of shipbuilding in Burntisland .Both the Abden Yard and Burntisland Shipbuilding Co. Ltd were the vision of two men both born in the Victorian era and both men driven by vision. John Key already successful engineer seized the opportunity in a booming market from steam powered ships in the rapidly expanding British Empire.It is well over 100 years since Abden Shipyards closed for the final time and few records have survive there are only newspaper reports and journals. Burntisland Shipbuilding has been closed for over 50 years.
