Information pack produced by Cardenden Local History Group about the life and works of William McLaren, Scottish painter, illustrator, and decorative artist. On the 27th September 2023, it will be 100 years since William McLaren was born. -- There is very little information about William McLaren and his works and few are aware of this talented Scottish painter, illustrator and decorative artist who lived in Cardenden. -- Filmmakers Cadies Productions were able to trace hundreds of works by McLaren and together with testimony from those who knew him, a documentary DVD called William McLaren An Artist Out of Time was released in 2010. Using this and other material, Cardenden Local History Group wish to mark this occasion to inform people of this local artist who never forgot his roots and to celebrate his life and works.
