Hills and mountains

Spilsbury, Richard, 1963-2004
Books, Manuscripts
One of a series looking at habitats in the UK. For each habitat type, a number of examples are used from various parts of the country. Each title has an introductory spread explaining what a habitat is and that, within the UK and indeed a locality, many different habitats may be found. The following spreads look at the specifics of the habitat - plants, animals, insects, and birds. They investigate what happens to these during changing seasons and why each is suited to its habitat. The books also cover environmental care, looking at the threats to each habitat type and what is being done to protect them. There is also a page showing an example food chain to illustrate how plants and animals interact with their habitat.
