A hundred years ago, a mysterious benefactor gifted this remarkable building to the people of the town, a gesture that sparked a century of creativity, curiosity, and connection. Since then, the gallery and museum's collection has flourished through generous donations and thoughtful acquisitions, becoming a cherished cultural cornerstone. Over the decades, it has inspired generations of artists and welcomed countless visitors through its doors.
Today we continue to work hand-in-hand with our community, honouring the past while shaping the future. The centenary exhibition invites you to explore the stories behind the art, the people who made it possible, and the vision that will carry us into the next hundred years.
Join our curators for a guided tour through this landmark exhibition, sharing insights, untold stories, and a glimpse into what lies ahead.
